About
Hyde Solutions LLC is a book marketing agency working with independent authors and small presses. We take on a limited number of books at a time so that each one gets a plan rather than a template.
How we work
Publishing a book is the end of one long project and the start of another one that nobody trained you for. Most authors we meet have already done the hard part. What they are missing is a sequence: what to do, in what order, by when.
That is the whole job as we see it. We are not here to make you an influencer or to promise a bestseller list. We are here to make sure the book is findable, the listing is persuasive, and the readers who would love it get a fair chance to hear about it.
What we hold to
- We tell you if marketing is not your problem yet. Sometimes the cover is.
- You keep ownership of every account, list, and ad platform we touch.
- Reports say what worked and what did not, in plain language.
- No bought reviews, no follower farms, no tactics that put your retailer account at risk.
- We recommend the smallest engagement that would actually move the book.
Who we take on
We are a good fit for some books and a poor fit for others. Better to know early.
A good fit
- The manuscript is finished and professionally edited
- You intend to keep writing, not publish once
- You have a budget for ad spend separate from our fee
- Fiction with series potential, or nonfiction with a defined reader
- Small presses with two or more titles a year
Not a fit yet
- The book has not been through a copyedit
- You are looking for guaranteed sales or a list placement
- The release is next week and nothing is in place
- You would rather buy reviews than earn them
Common questions
How far ahead should I come to you?
Three to four months before release is ideal. Earlier is fine. We also work with books that have already been out for a year and are not selling.
Do you work with traditionally published authors?
Yes. Publishers rarely market midlist titles past release month, and we often pick up where their campaign stops.
Who pays for the ads?
You do, directly, through your own accounts. Our fee covers strategy and management. That way the data and the history stay yours.
Can you guarantee sales?
No, and anyone who does is selling something else. What we can promise is a plan, honest reporting, and spend that stops when it is not working.
What genres do you handle?
Most commercial fiction and general nonfiction. If your category is outside what we know well, we will say so and point you elsewhere.
Where are you based?
We work remotely with authors across the country. Calls happen over video, and everything is documented in writing.
Still reading?
Then it is probably worth a conversation. No pitch deck, just questions about the book.
